The pigment retention differs from one client to another, however we generally recommend a touch up (after your initial touch up) every 12-18 months to refine your shape and brighten up your pigment. There are a few factors that could influence how long your microblading/shading lasts - how much time you spend in the sun, frequent facials or chemical peels, having very oily skin etc.

These procedures cannot be performed on pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as clients who are going through chemotherapy or radiation treatment. Clients need to avoid the following prior to their appointment - no alcohol, caffeine, aspirin or ibuprofen for 24 hours prior to the procedure, no exercising on the day of the procedure. No vitamin E, fish oil, retinol products or waxing or threading the brow area for one week prior. No facials or excessive exposure to the sun for two weeks prior. Clients should not have any eczema, rashes, shingles, acne or psoriasis near the brow area. No botox or fillers for 4 weeks prior to the procedure. No Accutane used within the past year. 

Prior to securing your permanent brow procedure, we will discuss each client's needs to determine which brow style option is best and go through the pre-care steps to ensure that the procedure is safe for each client. If you fear that your pain tolerance is low, you are most welcome to purchase Emla numbing cream from your local pharmacy and apply it 30 minutes before your procedure (we however also numb you twice during the procedure).

In your actual appointment, we start by cleaning the skin completely to ensure a blank canvas. After some final discussions and analyzing the brows, we make a final decision regarding which style option to opt for. Next, we move on to measuring and mapping out the brow with our advanced mapping techniques. The client is given the opportunity to review their brow shape and advise on changes. A topical numbing cream will be applied to your brow area for 30 minutes, while we run through a consultation form, the aftercare steps and decide together on the ideal pigment. To follow, we start the actual procedure of inserting the pigment into the skin and make our way towards the perfect brows. Clients can ask for more numbing cream or a little break whenever it is necessary.
Finally, once we have completed the microblading/shading, we tidy up the outgrown hairs to accurately analyze the final brows and display them to the client for final approval. 

We understand that life is sometimes unpredictable, and things happen that are out of our control. Therefore, you are most welcome to let us know that you can no longer make your appointment and we can either reschedule your appointment or cancel it. However, we do request that you please notify us 48 hours prior to your appointment, to enable us to secure another client in your slot. If you fail to notify us 48 hours before your appointment, you will respectfully be liable for 50% of your appointment fee.

We are most certainly in favour of a bridal makeup and/or hair trial as this is the only time we get to meet the bride before her wedding day. A trial offers the opportunity to test out the look she has in mind, to see what it will look like on her, as unfortunately it will never look exactly like the sample photo, as no two people's hair or facial features are the same. A trial gives the bride peace of mind, knowing just how beautiful she will look on her wedding day. We do, however, understand that sometimes the budget doesn't accommodate a trial, or the bride lives far away, making it difficult to do a trial. For these reasons, we will not turn away a bride simply because she cannot do a trial.
